The Taiwan External Trade Council today announced the nominees of the 16th Taiwan Excellence Gold/Silver Awards. This result is complemented by the fact that 51 Taiwan Excellence awards were bestowed in total to ASUS during the annual competition – again the largest amount amongst all contestants.

"With ever increasing requirements from discerning users, 3C products need to be constantly innovated to provide convenience in usage, showcase stylish designs and provide more excitement in a user’s daily life." said Benson Lin, General Manager of ASUS’ APAC Sales Group.

The abundance of Japan’s G-Mark, Germany’s iF and reddot design awards that have been awarded to ASUS reaffirms ASUS’ commitment to combine the best of the East and West in design and aesthetics, as well as boost ASUS’ drive to propel a strong Taiwanese brand presence worldwide. The eight ASUS products that have been nominated for Gold Awards are: the Eee PC 4G, the ARES CG6150 Desktop PC, the MK241H LCD, the G70, U2E and VX3 notebooks, the R700t PND and the M536 Smartphone.

Held annually, the Taiwan Excellence award is given to products that fit the criteria of significantly embodying "R&D/Innovation", "Design Innovation", "Quality Systems", "Marketing", and "Brand Awareness". The Taiwan Excellence competition and promotion is sponsored by the Board of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and carried out by the Taiwan Trade Development Council (TAITRA) as part of an effort to improve the international image of Taiwan’s products.
